Emotional cleansing
Shaking, dancing, gibberish, humming — the active methods let the body finish what the week interrupted. Nobody is watching you. Everyone else is far too busy being ridiculous themselves.
A shared space for meditation and celebration. One evening a week we shake off what the week put on us, sit in silence together, light the lamps, chant, and drink chai. Inspired by Osho’s techniques. Open to everyone, whatever you believe.

Inspired by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh · Guided by Bodhisattva Swami Anand Arun · Held in Toronto since 2019
Osho’s insight was simple and slightly inconvenient: a modern body cannot just sit down and be still. First it has to be emptied. Every gathering follows that order, and takes about two and a half hours.
Shaking, dancing, gibberish, humming — the active methods let the body finish what the week interrupted. Nobody is watching you. Everyone else is far too busy being ridiculous themselves.
Then we sit. Silent sitting after catharsis is unlike sitting at any other time — there is simply nothing left to fidget with. Chairs, cushions and back support are always there.
We close in a circle with tea, fruit and whatever anyone wants to say — including nothing. This half hour is the reason a lot of people keep coming back.
Each Saturday centres on one Osho meditation, held between silent sitting, Buddhist chanting and a compassion practice. Nothing here asks you to believe anything — you do the method, and the method does you.
Times shift a little week to week with the light and the space, so check the hour before you set out. Twenty-four seats, and the special evenings fill early.
Buddha Hall runs on donation. The suggested contribution is $15 for one person or $20 for two coming together, which covers the room, the tea and the materials — nothing more. Send it by e-transfer when you register, or contribute in person on the day. If money is tight this month, come anyway and say nothing about it. That is not a special exception; it is the whole point.
Any of them. If you would rather start gently, choose a Kundalini evening — it asks the least and gives the most on a first visit.
Name, email, phone, and a few questions about incense and health. Two minutes. We email you the exact address.
Nothing heavy for two or three hours beforehand. Come ten minutes before the start — the doors close when the music does.
Clothes you can shake, sweat and lie down in, plus a layer for the silent sitting. Bare feet inside. Everything else we provide.
In for four, hold for two, out for six. This is not one of the methods — it is simply what the body does on its own once it stops being asked to hurry.
You do not need to be calm, spiritual, flexible or convinced. You need two and a half hours and a pair of loose trousers. Everything else happens by itself.
